Thankfully, most magazines these days warn readers about potential spoilers. However, fans who are connected to the internet and use newsgroups are not protected by the conscience of magazine editors and it is quite easy to stumble upon a spoiler before realising it.
To help UK fans avoid this, the newsgroup alt.babylon5.uk was created. This group is specifically for UK viewers of B5 (foreign viewers are welcome, as long as they do not post spoilers), so discussion of episodes still to be broadcast on Channel 4 is not allowed. This enables fans to have in-depth discussions without running the risk of encountering a spoiler.
What makes alt.babylon5.uk different from other UK B5 newsgroups? In short: Its atmosphere. Whereas the other groups are alarmingly large, this group has remained comparatively small. This has resulted in a very friendly and light-hearted environment being created, whilst still allowing detailed discussion.
The newsgroup has weekly reviews, both serious and humourous, as well as discussion on all other aspects of Babylon 5 (as long as they do not include spoilers, posts can discuss anything B5-related).
